作为受邀嘉宾，中国食品工业协会品牌战略工作委员会秘书长曾黔、品牌战略工作委员会国际合作中心顾问KANS BULAY DESMOND(孔雷达)出席了本次论坛活动。同时，非洲专家孔雷达先生就非洲农业的发展现状与市场机会进行了主题发言。
As invited guests, Zeng qian, secretary-generalof brand strategy working committee of China National food industry Associationand KANS BULAY DESMOND, adviser of international cooperation center of brandstrategy working committee attended the Forum. Meanwhile, Mr. DESMOND, an African expert, delivered a keynote addresson the current state of agricultural development and market opportunities inAfrica.
孔雷达先生指出，非洲大陆拥有50多个不同的文化、语言和特点的国家，拥有充裕的土地资源、热带气候宜人、年轻劳动力资源众多、农业发展具有显著先天优势。然而目前在农耕方面，超过90%的农田依靠降雨，没有人工灌溉的帮助。另外，缺少化肥、杀虫剂和高产种子以及基础设施的不足，致使非洲的农业发展与亚洲和美洲相比仍有很大差距，农业生产率仍然远远低于发达国家的标准。
Mr. DESMOND pointed out that Africa is acontinent with over 50 countries, and these countries have different culture,languages, and specificities. It has obvious natural advantages in agriculturaldevelopment, such as abundant land resources, tropical climate, a booming youngpopulation. At present, however, agricultural productivity still remains farfrom developed world standards. Over 90% of agriculture depends on rainfall,with no artificial irrigation aid. The techniques used to cultivate the soilare still far behind from what has been adopted in Asia and Americas, lackingnot only irrigation, but also fertilizers, pesticides and access to high-yieldseeds. Agriculture in Africa also experiences basic infrastructural problems .
在非洲，食品消费是非洲人民生活中非常重要的一部分，占穷人家庭预算的三分之二。由于农业的低生产力水平不能满足城市中心日益增长的粮食需求，导致越来越依赖食品进口。2018年，非洲在食品进口(不包括鱼类)上花费了500亿美元，其中只有5%与非洲大陆内部的贸易有关。
In Africa, agriculture accounts for two thirdsof livelihoods and food accounts for two thirds of the household budgets ofpoor people. It makes up a very important part of the lives of African people.The low productivity levels of agriculture in Africa have resulted in aworrisome scenario: it does not meet the growing demand for food from urban area.The region is increasingly dependent on food imports. Africa spent US$50bn onfood imports (excluding fish) in 2018, only 5% of it related to trading withinthe continent.
为了改变现状，提高农业生产力，用自己的农产品取代这些进口，从而增加劳动力，减少贫困，非洲各国都将农业放在了国家优先发展的队列中。同时，在政策、投资方面也给予优惠扶持。目前，一些总部设在新加坡的大型农业企业正在非洲大举投资，开展合作。
In order to revert this situation, An increasein productivity could replace these imports with their own produce, which wouldin turn reduce poverty, increasing labor force, African countries have putagriculture on the priority list of national development. At the same time, givepreferential investment policy. Singapore is proving to be an engaged ally inthe process of changing this reality. Some big players in the agriculturalsector with their headquarters in Singapore, are investing heavily in Africa.
